LADN Support Group Meeting + Guest Talk with Acupuncturist Katarina Ryan, M.S., L.Ac.

Join us for our monthly support group for dysautonomia patients and caregivers living in the Los Angeles area. Our support group provides a space for patients to share their experiences related to dysautonomia, as all as an opportunity to provide and receive support from others living with this condition. Our support group will meet from 1:00-1:45, and then we will have acupuncturist Katarina Ryan, M.S., L.Ac. guest speak from 1:45-2:15. Katarina will be discussing what acupuncture is, how it works, and how it may be helpful for treating dysautonomia. Learn more about Katarina below!

Katarina Ryan M.S., L.Ac., DNBAO, is a licensed Acupuncturist in the state of California. She is the founder of Acupuncture Therapeutics. Katarina is a highly motivated holistic medicine practitioner with a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Samra University. She is passionate about her work and enjoys helping patients reach their goals. “A patient success is my success”. 

She has extensive experience in the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal problems. She has over 23 years of clinical experience and has preformed 10,000+ treatments working with various issues; injuries (chronic and acute) and sports related problems. Now with 20 years of clinical acupuncture experience under her belt she continues to treat neuro-physical problems and internal medical imbalances using various Traditional Chinese Medical modalities such as; acupuncture, electrical stimulation, cupping, moxabustion and tui-na massage. She administers Chinese herbal prescriptions as well.

Katarina has completed her post graduate education (300+ hrs) in Acupuncture Orthopedics held at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA. She is board certified by the prestigious National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics (NBAO) and part of a small percent of licensed acupuncturists nationwide who has this specialization.

Katarina has special education and certification in cosmetic facial acupuncture. She is trained by acupuncturist Mary Elizabeth Wakefield who is one of the leading proponents of facial acupuncture and related techniques in the world today.  She is one of only a select few US acupuncturists, including Jeffrey Yuen, to have been awarded the title of Educator of the Year by the American Association of Oriental Medicine (AAAOM), for her contributions to the field of Oriental medicine as a teacher, creator of innovative treatment protocols, writer for acupuncture periodicals, and advocate of acupuncture in the national media

 Katarina lives in La Crescenta with her husband, teenage son and “Chilly”, the family dog. On her time off she likes to hike, play tennis and practice on her saxophone.
